Red Tilapia Fish is a kind of fish with African origin living in rivers. From 1923 to 1945, they are cultivated world-wide, especially in the tropical regions. Tilapia is a strong fish, easy to farm, and fast-growing. There are plenty of Tilapia species but the four most popular Tilapias in global seafood export markets are Black, Red, Blue and Taiwanese Tilapia.
Vietnam imported and Red and Black Tilapia in 1963 from Thailand and other Tilapias in 1973 from Taiwan. Red Tilapia is a daily and common food in Vietnam due to its reasonable price and high protein. Each year Vietnam exports the thousands tons of Frozen Red Tilapiato the UE and US market. And this number still increases day by day. Together with Black and Taiwanese Tilapias, Red Tilapia holds the potential to become one of most important seafood exports in 2014 and 2015.
