Gac fruit has been commonly used in its native countries, mainly as food and traditional medicine. Its use as medicine has been dated back to over 1200 years ago in Vietnam.
Gac fruit has high levels of fatty acid-bound carotenoids called lipocarotenes that facilitate that delivery of carotenoids to cells. Gac powder is also an exceptional source of lycopene and beta-carotene.
- Lycopene : 70 times more than tomatoes,
- Beta-carotene : 10 times more than carrots,
- Vitamin C : 60 times more than oranges,
- Zeaxanthin : 40 times more than yellow corn.
