Enhance the value of banana leaves

The Vibale team with the project “Vibale – Raising the value of Vietnamese banana leaves” to replace foam boxes and plastic bags won the contest “Innovative agricultural innovation 2020”.

Overcoming the contest teams, the project “Vibale – Raising the value of Vietnamese banana leaves” won the final victory, receiving a prize worth 30 million VND. The project is considered to be a creative project; highly scalable; providing useful values ​​to the community and enhancing sustainable agriculture.

Vibale is a project that has been implemented since 2019, offering a solution to use banana leaves to form trays and boxes to replace foam food containers that are polluting the environment. The product has the advantage of easy decomposition, reducing waste in the environment, and increasing the livelihoods of farmers. With the modern technology transferred; when the product is dried, it retains the color of the banana leaf, which can be preserved for 12 months

Linh – the leader of the project team shared, participating in this contest apart from the goal of spreading a green lifestyle to everyone, initially expected to access many resources to support the project. She hopes that in the next 3 months, she will raise a capital of 270 million to complete the machinery system to meet the current orders. Currently Linh’s project has received orders with total value over VND200 million. Including orders up to 5,000 units, 10,000 units.

Currently, the project’s products have been provided in a number of restaurants in the South. In the near future, the project will research and test more environmentally friendly products from lotus leaves and palm leaves.
