Grass Straws Made Of Wild Grass Are Newest Zero-Waste Option

This latest version can be stored for up to two weeks, refrigerated, and stored in airtight bags. If you require to make the fresh straws last even longer, the companies website suggests boiling the straws with some salt, letting them dry, and storing them in a cool, dry place.

Shelf Life of Grass Straw

The dried variant can be stored at room temperature for up to six months. 


Both species of grass straws are edible, and chewing them following meals can improve cleaned your teeth and gums, said by Ống Hút Cỏ. It is too compostable, free of chemicals and preservatives, and are affordable.


All trade them in bundles of 100 with one dry straw costing 1,000 Vietnamese dongs ($0.043) and one new straw costing 600 Vietnamese dongs ($0.026). These grass straws are currently mainly available for sale in Vietnam.
